Introducing The Walkstation: A Healthy Step in the Right Direction

Sladen's newest computer workstation is a Walkstation, combining a computer, desk and treadmill into one unit. Henry Ford physicians and employees can now Move to Improve at a comfortable pace of 2 MPH as they check email and use  online resources.

Located in Sladen Library, on K-17, the Walkstation is available on a walk-in basis Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-7:30pm, and Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. It was purchased by the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ron Davis.

The Walkstation was designed by Dr. James A. Levine, of the Mayo Clinic. Click here to read Dr. Levine's article on NEAT - Non-exercise Activity Thermogenesis - which describes how our everyday activities affect our energy expenditure and body weight.

Want to know more? View the product brochure on the Steelcase web site or view the user guide video.  There is additional information about the WalkStation here
