How long do books go out?
Books can be checked out for three weeks, and can be renewed twice.
How long do slides, videotapes, or audiotapes go out?

Journals generally can not be checked out. If you need to check out a journal, please consult with the Information Desk personnel.
What is a hold? How do I place a hold on Library materials?
A hold is used to flag Library materials that are currently checked out. The Library's computer system will alert the Library staff that an item has had a hold placed when it is returned or up for renewal. The item will then be set aside for the individual who placed the hold. Library materials cannot be renewed if there is a hold request for that item.
Can I put a book on Hold if it is already checked out?
A hold can only be placed on items that are currently checked out.
What happens if I don't return library materials?
If you do not return library materials, you will receive overdue notices. If the item is not returned after two overdue notices, you will receive a memo indicating that your borrowing privileges have been suspending pending return of the item. If the item has been lost or damaged, you are responsible for the cost of the item. Once the item is returned or paid for, your borrowing privileges will be re-instated.
Does the Library charge an overdue fine?
The Library does not charge overdue fines. However, you are responsible for the cost of items that have been lost or damaged while checked out to you.
How do I find out what the Library owns?
You can find out what the Library owns by consulting the Library's Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). Also, feel free to contact the Library staff to inquire about an item. If what you need is not in the Library, you can request that we obtain the item from another library.
